Why Springboard Schools?
Springboard Schools has displayed a proven ability to assist school districts with improving the level of achievement among students. The process of accomplishing this task by implementing better standards for teachers gives the program a lasting foundation that can benefit schools in the future.
Program Description
State Farm supports Springboard Schools's Teacher Leaders' Network – an innovative professional learning community. This Network is comprised of 60 or more teacher leaders engaged in a year-long leadership development program of coaching, workshops, and peer-review sessions designed to strengthen teacher practices in the classroom and foster inquiry based reform, also known as continuous quality improvement, in Bay Area public schools. With State Farm's assistance, Springboard Schools seeks to build the leadership capacity of teachers throughout the Bay Area, which Springboard Schools believes is necessary to drive strategies that improve academic performance–particularly among our lowest performing students–and narrow the pervasive achievement gap.
Springboard Schools gratefully acknowledges State Farm's support. We believe that it is only through engaging the private sector that we can mobilize the resources needed to transform teaching and learning for the children our schools too often fail. We look forward to working with State Farm and with our other Corporate and Foundation Partners to raise student achievement and narrow the gap in performance between socially advantaged and disadvantaged students throughout the Bay Area.
