Excutive Leadership Center Seminars

ELC
Springboard Schools and ACSA have formed a partnership to provide high quality, leading edge professional development for superintendents, in the form of the proven Executive Leadership Center (ELC) Seminars. Piloted in Fresno, Madera, Los Angeles, and El Dorado Counties , the ELCs have been received with a tremendously positive response from the District and County Superintendents who have participated.

In the 2008-09 school year we will offer ELC Seminars in eight regions of California. You will want to consider becoming a presenting partner or attending an ELC in your region.

We are offering two programs, the Regional ELC Seminar Series, which is primarily targeted at experienced superintendents and the New Superintendents
ELC Seminar Series,
which focuses on first and second year superintendents.

What is an Executive Leadership Center Seminar?

The Executive Leadership Center program consists of current research and literature related to instructional and organizational leadership and the challenges that school leaders face. There is an emphasis on applying these best practices to create a district environment of improved teaching and learning. The program is facilitated by experienced school superintendents working with Springboard Schools, As a participating superintendent, you will learn:

  1. How to apply high-leverage, research-based, leadership strategies to work with district leaders, principals, teachers, and the district Community. You will also learn how to establish high expectations, focus on district priorities, insure program coherence and inspire commitment to achieve ambitious goals for student learning.
  2. How to shape a district culture that mobilizes members of the district
community to do the work necessary to improve the systems, structures and practices that support and sustain an accessible, rigorous, coherent and articulated curriculum for all students, high-quality teaching and successful student learning.
