IMPACT!
The three charts below include student subgroup achievement results for each partner district cohort. The first chart shows Year-3 partner districts, the second chart shows Year-2 partner districts, and the third chart shows Year-1 partner districts. Each of the three charts provides evidence that the average API growth for most of the subgroups in Springboard Schools' partner districts is greater than statewide growth for those groups of students.
Figure 1 compares a 3-year average API growth for our Year-3 partner districts to a 3-year average API growth statewide for ethnic subgroups. Springboard Schools’ Year-3 partners outpaced the statewide API gain for every significant student subgroup. For instance, English Learners (EL) across the state had an average of 9 points of API growth, whereas in Springboard Schools' districts EL averaged over 16 points of growth over the same period.

Similarly, Figure 2 compares a 2-year average API growth for our Year-2 partner districts to a 2-year average API growth statewide for ethnic subgroups. Springboard Schools’ Year-2 partners again outpaced the statewide API gain for every significant student subgroup, except American Indian, which is a very small number of students. For our Year-2 partners, African American students have made the most substantial gains and have outpaced their statewide counterparts by the most as well. African American students across the state averaged API growth of 9.5 points, whereas in our partner districts they averaged 15.4 points of growth over the same period.

Finally, our Year-1 cohort of partner districts is working to improve student achievement for all of its student subgroups. Springboard Schools is meeting the challenge head-on, and expects that our impact will become evident as districts embrace and implement new policies and procedures.
